Snow Fall

Today is very cold.

ShigaKogen is the first snow.

A beautiful day of Autumn.

'HASUIKE'

The picture is Hasuike. Autumn is very beautiful.

IT IS VERY COLD TODAY.

"KIDOIKE" is covered with the snow.

A new snow got off by 12cm on the HASUIKE.

It is a powder snow.

The snowfalls in the vicinity ShigaKogen Tourism Association are 25 cm.

Two Australians came to the Olympics Memorial to play yesterday.

Still winter in Shiga Kogen

The winter is still with us in Shiga Kogen. During the night, we registered -6℃ and 12 cm of fresh snow in Hasuike.

More snow is expected during the day and it's cloud at the moment.

It's snowing beautifully all morning today and according to the Japan Meteorological Agency, it suppose to snow all day today here!

Another Backcountry Ski Tour 2009 is happening!

Today 56 skiers joined to ski through Shiga Kogen snowy mountains and drink local wine. People from Tokyo, Kanagawa, Nagoya, Gifu, Osaka and, of course, Nagano are at this moment in Kumanoyu Area enjoying about 15 cm of fresh snow.

2nd Snow Village - Sunday night

The 2nd Shiga Kogen Snow Village was amazing yesterday night!

Kids and adults were having fun at the huge snowslide and everybody had the chance to try different foods and take lots of pictures in the middle of the snow.

Today isn't a great day to go out and ski... But you can go out and ski/snowboard anyway or, perhaps, spend the day shopping those traditional souvenirs we usually try to find at the last minutes of our last day travelling. Which normally, is hard to find what we want to.

Here, the main focus is the "Relationship between Nature and Human Being", which exhibits the nature of Shiga Kogen. In the “Nature Salon” visitors can enjoy handicraft, using natural materials and in the Lecture Room they can study the nature.

Yuichiro Miura is the oldest person who reached the summit of Mount Everest which, actually, he did twice, when he was 70 years old, and again, with 75 years of age. Also, he’s the first person who skied down the same mountain.

Last night's snow fall add more 10 cm to our ski runs.
It's very cloudy today and we hope we can see more and more snow registered here!
So far, we have registered 116 cm in Hasuike.
